What FPL has said
Szoboszlai started away at Brentford in Gameweek 7 and came off after 31 minutes for one point. FPL flagged him on Saturday afternoon: injured, 0% chance of playing, "hamstring injury, unknown return date". FPL uses 0% whenever a club gives no date, so the flag alone does not say whether this is a week or a month.
What his manager has said
Andoni Iraola was asked about him before Liverpool's Champions League game against Villarreal, and BBC Sport reported his answer. It is not a new injury: Szoboszlai went off at Brentford with the same hamstring problem that kept him out the week before, he has not made it worse, and Iraola said he will not be out for a long time. Liverpool will be patient rather than rush him back again. No date was given, and one outlet has suggested early November, but nothing from the club backs a long absence.
What he was worth
Less than his ownership suggests, even before this. He has 21 points from seven gameweeks, one goal and no assists in 471 minutes, and he did not play in Gameweek 6. Our deadline projection for Brentford away gave him 0.9 expected points with only a 20% chance of appearing, because the same hamstring had already cost him a game. The top 10,000 read it the same way: 18% of them own him but only 3% started him this week.
What managers are doing
Selling, faster than for any other flagged player. 232,000 managers have moved him out this gameweek against 1,800 in, and ownership has fallen from 21.7% on Saturday lunchtime to 19.7% by Monday night. If Iraola is right that this is short, that is a lot of transfers spent on a player who may be back within a couple of gameweeks; if you have no other move to make, benching him for Brighton at home costs nothing.
Where the market puts the money
The first Gameweek 8 prices back Iraola up. Four of the six bookmakers we read have already priced Szoboszlai in the goalscorer market for Brighton at home, at 18% with the margin removed. Bookmakers tend to leave out players they expect to miss, so being listed by most of them fits a short absence. It is not a start chance, though: FPL still has him at 0%, and our projection gives him nothing until the flag lifts.
If you do want him out, the market's best midfielders at a similar price are Bryan Mbeumo on 4.4 expected points at home to Bournemouth for a pound more, Martin Ødegaard on 4.0 at home to Everton at the same £6.8m, and Anton Stach on 4.0 away at Sunderland for £6.0m, owned by only 2.3%. Assist markets open later in the week and will lift the creators among them.
